All Dressed in White

about

A bonus track for the EP 'It's All True'

lyrics

She combed her hair for the break-up call
Checked her smile was symmetrical
Kept it quick, kept it clinical
Scripted her lines

Aftershave for the funeral
He rolled his eyes at the speech
Caught her gaze, unmistakeable
Her red, blushing cheeks

Is it me or did you look my way?
Oh, what a tragic day!
But you’re looking nice…

I can never quite find the right words to say
God, you’re so damn brave
All dressed in white

A silhouette in the morning light
Coffee breath and little sleep
Cigarette, stay another night?
Shoulders marked by her teeth

What makes you think that I want you to stay?
Did I forget to say;
That you’re not my type.

Keep this lighter as a souvenir
And wipe away those tears
We’re just too alike

So, comb your hair for the break-up call
And check there’s nothing in your teeth
You can talk for the both of us
Be sure to enunciate your speech.
